[Technical Inquiry] USB-5830 DI returning 0

USB-5830 DI returning 0

Hello,

I have recently acquired some USB-5830 boards for a project at work, I currently have them on my desk with a couple wires fixed in the Dry connector to keep some DI active.
My issue comes with the reading of the DI, I am polling the Read function to get both bytes then processing the data.
I works however occasionally I will get both bytes as 0, even when the DI is active (the wire is always there!?!?)
This then causes my remembered states to change and trigger my application to do stuff.
Other than ignoring the two 0 bytes is there some way i can stop the USB-5830 from doing this?
Is there any settings i can adjust?

Is there a reason this occurs?

The sample app also does it but at a slower rate due to polling speed.

Although unlikely for there to be 0 result it could happen so I don't want to just ignore it.

I need to be able to tell my boss that it is stable and suitable for production use (the reason why we went with this instead of a generic IO box).

Regards,

Ed.
